The case was ultimately settled for an undisclosed yet “very large” amount. Cosby maintained his denial of Dickinson’s allegation and said his insurer agreed to the settlement without his consent. Cosby has notably not returned to a mainstream Hollywood career since the allegations against him became a major public scandal in 2014.
Separately, Cosby was convicted in 2018 of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand and served nearly three years in prison before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction in 2021, ruling that his prosecution violated a prior non-prosecution agreement. In 2026, a California civil jury also found Cosby liable for sexually assaulting Donna Motsinger and awarded her $59.25 million, but Cosby’s lawyer said they planned to appeal.
