The Battlefield franchise is no stranger to boasting its fair share of Easter eggs over the years, and the latest Battlefield 6 is no exception to the rule. Even if there aren’t any giant sharks or convoluted ways to unlock secret weapons or cosmetics just yet, there are still quite a few hidden details to uncover in the full release of Battlefield 6.
Bringing back the familiar series formula of the past, Battlefield 6 has plenty of nods to previous entries in the franchise, just as much as its own original surprises. While you may have spotted some of these Easter eggs in your time playing Battlefield 6 already, there’s still more to uncover as players start exploring every nook and cranny of the map pool.
Bad Company 2 Logos Hidden Across Battlefield 6
As if bringing back classic features and mechanics from past Battlefield games wasn’t enough, Battlefield 6 isn’t afraid of putting its past front and center with plenty of not-so-subtle references. One of the most common Easter eggs scattered throughout both the campaign and multiplayer modes is the ever-iconic logo from the original Battlefield: Bad Company.
While you can quickly spot these small details in the very first level of the Battlefield 6 campaign, you can also find spray paint and other drawings scattered around each multiplayer map as well, offering even more to spot as you continue to play.
Battlefield 6 Hasn’t Forgotten Its Dinosaur Obsession
Although this detail isn’t the most well hidden, given that it has one of Battlefield 6‘s many achievements tied to finding it, it’s still incredibly easy to miss on your first playthrough. Found directly behind you when you load the first level of the Battlefield 6 campaign, you can pick up a toy Dinosaur, which will play an animation and unlock the ‘End of an Era’ achievement.
Given how few players are likely to go through the campaign more than once, let alone try to hunt down its various achievements, there’s a good chance you might have completely missed this small reference and its comedic follow-up by Murphy.
Some Familiar Framed Photos For Battlefield Fans
On top of the logos for Bad Company scattered throughout the maps of Battlefield 6, you can also spot more than a few familiar framed portraits. While they can be easy to run by at first, Battlefield veterans will be quick to spot some of the most iconic maps from the franchise depicted in them.
From Battlefield 3‘s Caspian Border, the Lighthouse from Battlefield 2: Bad Company, and Battlefield 1‘s Cape Helles, there are even more recognizable locations to keep an eye out for while you play through certain maps. Other frames found in various maps or Battlefield 6 campaign levels also feature pictures of random dogs or cats, which could very well be the pets of the developers themselves.
Dinosaur Posters On Maps Like Iberian Heights
While one of these was already spotted in the open beta months ago, the full release of Battlefield 6 saw even more Easter eggs with its various posters and bus stop designs. First seen on Iberian Heights, you can spot a tongue-in-cheek poster featuring the dinosaur references that have been present in the series for over a decade at this point.
On top of the Iberian Heights poster titled “Battle Saurus: No Head, No Screams”, you can also find even more posters on maps like Manhattan Bridge that feature alternative art straight out of a ’90s horror movie.
Liberation Peak Could Be The Start Of Another Major Easter Egg
Another surprise that made its first appearance in the Battlefield 6 beta, some players were quick to notice that one of the many radios found throughout the game was spotted next to some suspicious markings. Having four rows of Cyrillic text and what seem to be rough coordinates for inconspicuous locations in Liberation Peak’s real-life Tajikistan.
Although there have been plenty of attempts by the community to try and unpack this Easter egg before release, nobody has been able to come up with a solid explanation even after the full launch of Battlefield 6, or what it could potentially lead to.
Even if this Liberation Peak secret is just a red herring for the Battlefield 6 community and just the records of a simple basketball game between local soldiers, as some players suggest, it’s only a matter of time before some dedicated players start to find the major secrets hiding within the game.
Achievements Referencing Other EA Games
While you can’t unlock all Battlefield 6 achievements just yet before the release of the upcoming Battle Royale mode, the challenges already in the game have a few secrets of their own. From referencing previous Battlefield games, other EA franchises, and even blockbuster movies, there are more than a few notable achievement titles and descriptions to look out for.
Battlefield 6 isn’t afraid of poking fun at itself either, with the ‘Wrench Money’ achievement requiring you to repair vehicles for an all too familiar 2042 health to unlock, on top of the PlayStation trophy ‘Perfectly Balanced, As All Things Should Be’ for obtaining every other trophy.
Speakers Playing Familiar Themes Across The Battlefield
You may have spotted a few speakers of boomboxes lying around the various maps of Battlefield 6, but interacting with them several times offers more than just generic background music. Each time you interact with one, the speaker will start to play a theme song from one of several classic Battlefield games of the past, including Battlefield 1943, Battlefield 1943, and even Battlefield Heroes.
You can also find a speaker playing these songs automatically in the Battlefield 6 Firing Range, offering some intermittent nostalgia to embrace while you test out your latest weapon creations.
Battlefield 6 Continues The EA Cinematic Universe
If you pay enough attention to the Manhattan maps of Battlefield 6, you’ll be able to spot a few familiar businesses that aren’t a first for the Battlefield franchise. The most notable of these is easily EA’s pink-boxed Double Dip Donuts, which also made a recent appearance in the latest Skate game.
Even if Battlefield 6 poses a grim future for the world of Skate, the reference is even more notable for its appearance in Battlefield Hardline, which had several character voice lines relating to how delicious the donuts look when spotted. Unfortunately, these comedic voice lines didn’t make their way into Battlefield 6, but it’s still a welcome callback to previous EA titles.
Battlefield Friends Is Still Alive After All These Years
The Battlefield franchise has always had a close relationship with its community before Battlefield 6, and that trend hasn’t changed with the latest entry in the franchise. Aside from the dinosaurs or the community-driven Phantom Program, the ever-iconic Battlefield Friends has made its way into yet another Battlefield game.
Battlefield 1 also saw an Easter egg where the Battlefield Friends’ crew can be heard arguing in an upside-down tank, with the voices of the characters being heard all the way back in Battlefield 4 on several occasions.
Found in the campaign mission ‘No Sleep’, if you walk over to one of the sleeping tents at the start of the level, you’ll be able to find the Battlefield Friends’ iconic Bipod Knife, next to a sticky note labeled “Promoted!”. Even if it’s not the most involved Easter egg we’ve seen featuring the beloved Battlefield content creators before, there could still be more to come in future updates.
A Subtle Comic Book Reference In The Sewers Of Night Raid
While it can be somewhat easy to miss if you aren’t keeping an eye on your surroundings, you can spot a few familiar environmental details in the beginning sewers of the Battlefield 6 campaign mission ‘Night Raid’. While traversing the dark corridors of the sewers, you’ll be able to find more than a few suspiciously discarded pizza boxes.
Even if this could be explained as leftovers from civilians hiding out in the sewers to avoid PAX detection, the overabundance of pizza boxes specifically seems more like an intentional nod to a familiar band of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sneaking their way into Battlefield 6.
