TOKYOPOP introduces TOKYOPOP Rewards program for manga fans

TOKYOPOP has launched a new program called TOKYOPOP Rewards, giving fans a chance to save on future orders by earning rewards through the company’s website. Users can accumulate points by referring friends, sharing content, and making purchases. Those interested can sign up at TOKYOPOP.com by clicking the red gift icon at the bottom left of the page.

In addition to launching their rewards program, TOKYOPOP has partnered with Mattel to create an exciting new lineup of manga inspired by Barbie and Hot Wheels. This collaboration brings a fresh take on two beloved franchises, expanding their reach into the world of Japanese-inspired storytelling.

Based in Los Angeles, California, with offices in Tokyo, Japan, and Hamburg, Germany, TOKYOPOP is a well-known licensor, publisher, and distributor of manga, manhwa, light novels, and more. Founded in 1997 by Stuart J. Levy, the company played a pioneering role in bringing manga and anime culture to Western audiences. It was one of the first publishers to recognize the potential of shojo manga, introducing series like Sailor Moon to a wider audience. In 2002, TOKYOPOP began publishing “authentic” manga, preserving the traditional Japanese right-to-left reading format.

However, the company faced setbacks in 2008, including the loss of several Kodansha licenses, and eventually ceased U.S. operations in 2011. A year later, TOKYOPOP made a comeback, relaunching its website and partnering with Right Stuf on Demand to offer digital manga. More recently, they introduced their LoveLove Imprint, embracing the core belief that “Love is Love.”

Fans eager to learn more about TOKYOPOP Rewards can visit their website for full details.
