EXCLUSIVE: William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia franchise) and Mark Valley (Boston Legal) are leading Luca Elmi‘s new film Hostage, a thriller that will soon wrap principal photography this week in Kentucky.
Written by Drew Ingram and produced by his Stagmoor Studios, Hostage follows a charismatic politician’s road to the governor’s office as it takes an unexpected twist when he becomes embroiled in a high-stakes hostage situation that forces him to confront his past and threatens to derail his path to power.
Moseley stars as ‘Logan Marshall,’ a man in his prime; a rising political star and the Independent candidate in the upcoming Kentucky gubernatorial election. The kind of politician every voter wants to believe in a proud Kentuckian, handsome, young, charismatic, and commanding, with a supportive wife, Clara Marshall, and their daughter, Amelia, by his side. But beneath the surface, Logan is a man barely holding it together. He is polished in public, messy in private, and completely unpredictable when pushed. Behind the speeches and the campaign smiles, he constantly flirts with his darker impulses and baser instincts. He is a politician unraveling at the worst possible time.
Valley stars as ‘Jon Lewis,’ Logan’s ruthless campaign manager who keeps the wheels turning and isn’t afraid to speak the uncomfortable truth. He is brutally honest, unflappable, and cynical—his goal is to win at all costs, even if it means cutting moral corners. While he serves as Logan’s closest confidant, he is also a constant reminder of the pressures and compromises that come with ambition. Jon’s loyalty is absolute, but his patience wears thin as Logan spirals.
Elmi is a director and producer from Milan, Italy. His production company Roman Citizen has co-produced several features, including Succede, produced by Indigo Film and The First King, produced by Groenlandia. In 2019, he received the Producer of the Year award from the David di Donatello Film Festival for his work on The First King.
Moseley will next be seen as the lead in Hallmark’s Royal-Ish, and Steffan Jacker and Alexander Kiesl’s sci-fi feature Home Sweet Home: Rebirth opposite Michele Morrone. Most recently, he starred as the lead in Derek Estlin Purvis’ action feature The Ballad of Davy Crockett. In the same year, Moseley played the lead role of ‘Graham Savoy’ in the Crown Media feature Christmas In Notting Hill as well as Murder Company alongside Kelsey Grammer.
He is best known for his role as ‘Peter Pevensie’ in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. He reprised his role of Peter in the 2008 sequel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and two years later in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Additional film credits include Romuald Boulanger’s On the Line, the Amazon Prime feature film Raven’s Hollow, the indie feature Saving Paradise, Petr Jákl’s Medieval and Zackary Adler’s action drama The Courier.
