NFL Christmas Gameday is returning to Netflix this year with two matches: the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions vs. the Minnesota Vikings.
Netflix will air the games live on Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day. The Cowboys/Commanders will air at 1 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, followed by the Lions/Vikings at 4:30 pm ET from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
CBS Sports will produce the games, with NFL Media producing the pre, post, and
studio halftime programming with talent for the games being announced at a later date.
According to Nielsen, Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday 2024 reached 65 million U.S. viewers. Netflix delivered the two most-streamed NFL games in U.S. history with an average audience of over 26.5 million viewers in the U.S. and over 30 million viewers globally, highlighted by Beyoncé’s halftime performance.
Netflix has an ongoing relationship with the NFL with America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys docu-series set to be released this year. The streamer also recently announced Deion Sanders’ series Prime Time and America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders scored a second season.
Netflix is also home to several upcoming projects with the NFL, including a new installment of Quarterback, which features Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, and last year’s Receiver, which featured Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings and Amon Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions.
Netflix rival Amazon Prime Video will also broadcast an NFL game on Christmas Day as part of their Thursday Night Football partnership. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
