Donald Trump has slammed two of the most acclaimed musicians of the recent era, including Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen, in his Truth Social rants. While Swift is silent about the remarks, Springsteen chose to speak up against the U.S. president at a recent concert.
Donald Trump recently attacked Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift on Truth Social. After claiming Swift is “no longer hot,” he wrote a lengthy statement regarding Bruce Springsteen.
The Republican politician claimed that he never “liked” Springsteen and that he is “dumb as a rock.” He wrote, “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States. Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics.”
Later, the twenty-time Grammy-winning singer responded to Trump’s comments at a concert. On May 17, the rock sensation addressed the crowd at his Land of Hopes and Dreams tour in Manchester, England. Referring to his country’s politics, he said, “Things are happening right now that are altering the very nature of our country’s democracy, and they’re too important to ignore.” (via Los Angeles Times)
Springsteen did not shy away from stating his view of the current state of affairs. The 75-year-old Oscar-winning artist noted, “In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death. That’s happening now. In my country, they’re taking sadistic pleasure in the pain they inflict on loyal American workers.”
Meanwhile, fans have been waiting for Swift’s response to Trump’s comment, but the Reputation maker has been mostly silent regarding any of his disdainful remarks. On the other hand, Trump’s attack on two of the gifted singers has drawn attention. It has prompted searches about whether Swift and Springsteen are friends.
T-Swizzle has been a fan of Bruce Springsteen for decades. She referenced the singer in her iconic hit, “London Boy.” On the other hand, “the Boss” has also praised Swift’s artistry. He revealed that his daughter is a huge fan of Tay Tay in an interview.
While speaking to Howard Stern in 2022, the Born to Run maker revealed that his daughter made him listen to Swift’s album Midnights. Springsteen gushed, “She (Taylor Swift) is super talented. She is a tremendous writer, and I know the producer Jack Antonoff very well. They’re making big, great records. So there’s a lot of great work going on.”
