When is Knives Out 3’s expected release date?
Knives Out 3 was among the movies announced at Netflix Tudum 2025, the live event that also shed light on many other interesting titles. Netflix announced that the film will premiere on December 12, 2025. A preview video accompanied this announcement at the event.
It started filming back in June 2024 and wrapped up production by August 2024. Despite some appeals from fans, Knives Out 3 is only expected to premiere on Netflix, with no plans yet for limited theatrical release.
Who would be in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’s cast?
The previous installment in the Knives Out franchise had a star-studded cast. Knives Out 3 seems to have doubled up on that. The cast will once again be led by Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc. He will be joined by an ensemble cast, which includes Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Daryl McCormack, Josh Brolin, and Thomas Haden Church.
Interestingly, Jeremy Renner did appear in the franchise before. Renner’s digital likeness was used in Knives Out 2. For the rest of the cast, it would be a first in the Knives Out world.
What is Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’s plot about?
Although plot details about Wake Up Dead Man haven’t been revealed yet, based on the teaser, it would be Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” There was another big clue in the date announcement video. Blanc is shown in a church setting while he says, “The impossible crime…This is the Holy Grail.”
So while the exact idea of the film is not clear yet, it will possibly revolve around a church and a massive crime. Apart from that, the date announcement video also featured Mila Kunis in a Sheriff’s uniform, hinting that she may be on Blanc’s side. The crime in question may also have to do with some supernatural elements, as is indicated by another dialogue from Craig.
