I rewatched The NeverEnding Story recently and was honestly blown away all over again. It’s such a unique blend of childhood wonder, deep emotion, and surreal fantasy. The world of Fantasia still feels alive, mysterious, and full of imagination — even after all these years. As a kid, it felt magical. As an adult, it hits even harder. The Nothing, the Swamp of Sadness, Atreyu’s journey, Bastian's grief… there are so many powerful themes hidden under the surface. And the practical effects, costumes, puppetry — just incredible. It has a soul that most modern fantasy films can’t replicate. It’s wild how a film from 1984 can still feel more emotionally resonant and visually imaginative than much of what we see today. Curious how many of you grew up with this film — and how do you feel about it now? https://preview.redd.it/8ldq5b32gp9f1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0074e93523b26989a72b088865b459f35c724660 submitted by /u/gotocze |
