This November, the fantastical Tomorrowland universe is opening its gates in Shanghai.
For two decades, the beloved Belgian electronic music festival has summoned the dance music faithful to the storybook town of Boom. Since its debut in 2005, the festival has grown into an icon of imagination and spectacle. While Boom remains the beating heart of Tomorrowland, the brand’s global ambitions have outgrown the borders of its birthplace. This year, Tomorrowland is taking its biggest leap yet, straight into the heart of China.
Scheduled for November 22nd, 2025, at Shanghai’s futuristic Hero Dome, “The Magic of Tomorrowland” will mark the festival’s first official event in mainland China. The event will be a one-night indoor experience tailored exclusively for a new audience, fusing music, technology, and the brand’s signature theatrics all under one roof. The show promises custom-built stage designs, surprise artist collaborations, and a carefully curated blend of Tomorrowland’s international mainstays alongside emerging stars from China’s electronic music scene.
It’s not the first time Tomorrowland has looked beyond Belgium’s borders. This year, Tomorrowland is notably making its debut at the Sphere in Las Vegas as part of a collaborative project called “Unity” alongside Insomniac Events. However, the brand’s ambitions in Shanghai represent something entirely different. Rather than replicating the scale of Boom, the forthcoming production aims to distill the Tomorrowland experience into something more intimate and perhaps experimental.
Pre-registration for priority ticket access is now open via Tomorrowland’s official WeChat community, with sales set to launch in September.
