AMC is ready to rock and roll in 2026. The third season of their hit series Interview With the Vampire is arriving next year, and with it comes a whole new side of Sam Reid’s Lestat. Traumatized by his tumultuous relationship with Louis (Jacob Anderson), Season 3 sees Lestat turn to the public eye for affection, turning himself into a rockstar of immense proportions — though not wholly original ideas.
At AMC’s Immortal Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Reid broke down the influences he looked to for Lestat’s rockstar persona. The big name he dropped was David Bowie — one people have been speculating about since it was revealed that Season 3 would focus on The Vampire Lestat — but he also named Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors, as well as Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain. All the stars Reid listed are known for their flamboyance and loud on-stage personalities, which tracks for what we’ve seen of Lestat’s musical turn so far.
What Else Can We Expect to See in Season 3?
In addition to watching Lestat rock out, fans will also be thrilled to know that Delainey Hayles and Assad Zaman will both be returning to the series for its third season as Claudia and Armand. The season, which began production last month, will also feature Jennifer Ehle, Ella Balentine, Jeanine Serralles, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Damien Atkins. While details on the season are still slim, the synopsis for The Vampire Lestat book is as follows:
“The vampire hero of Anne Rice’s enthralling novel is a creature of the darkest and richest imagination. Once an aristocrat in the heady days of pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the demonic, shimmering 1980s, he rushes through the centuries in search of others like him, seeking answers to the mystery of his eternal, terrifying existence. His is a mesmerizing story—passionate, complex, and thrilling.”
Interview With the Vampire Season 3 premieres on AMC in 2026.
