Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to be packed full of villains! The latest rumor suggests that the project will introduce quite a few new characters into the MCU.
Like with every other MCU project, the rumor mill seemed to quite down the moment Spider-Man: Brand New Day started filming. This may seem paradoxical, as one would assume that leakers would have MORE information as production begins in earnest. However, given just how many villains were thrown out in the lead up to this film, it’s likely most scoopers want their rumors swept under the rug as quickly as possible.
However, there has been one interesting rumor to drop in the wake of filming. Insider DanielRPK revealed that fans can expect at least five villains to make their MCU debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The first was Scorpion, previously confirmed by the trades to appear in the film. However, joining him are some odd names. Those being: Tombstone (a fan-favorite, and perhaps the only reasonable choice on this list), Tarantula, Boomerang, and Ramrod.
Who Are The Villains Of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
While most Spider-Man fans are likely familiar with Scorpion, Tombstone, and even Boomerang; the fact that Tarantula and Ramrod appear on the list have some fans questioning what the plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be. These villains aren’t fearsome enough to warrant being the founding stock of the MCU’s Sinister Six, and the way the rumor was worded suggests that there may even be more to come.
If this rumor turns out to be true, it’s likely Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature a few plotlines. There will be a main one focusing on Tombstone and Scorpion (with Mister Negative potentially joining the fray), as well as a secondary one where Boomerang acts as a reluctant ally to Spider-Man. As for Ramrod and Tarantula, they’re likely continuing the MCU trend of minor villains being dispatched in the opening minutes of Spider-Man films.
