Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Dancer Jan Ravnik Joins DWTS Season 34

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dancers made the whole place shimmer — and now one is headed to the Dancing With the Stars ballroom.

Good Morning America revealed on Thursday, August 28, that Jan Ravnik will be joining season 34 of the dance competition show as the newest professional dancer.

“Good morning, America. My name is Jan Ravnik, I’ve traveled all around the world with [the] Eras Tour and now I’m coming to the ballroom stage for Dancing With the Stars,” he said in a special video message. “Mirrorball never goes out of style, and we are ready to win it.”

Ravnik gained notoriety when he traveled with Swift, 35, around the world for her record-breaking Eras Tour. He’s been an accomplished dancer within the industry for decades, previously appearing across film and TV including on the 97th Academy Awards, on Mariah Carey’s Christmas special and more. Prior to his time with Swift, he shared live stages with artists like Paula Abdul and Bruno Mars, among others.

DWTS first teased Ravnik’s participation on Wednesday, August 27, by sharing a purple sparkly image alongside a purple emoji via social media. Swifties immediately began to make the connection, as the the hue is one of the pop star’s “eras” colors, representing her 2010 Speak Now album.

“Jan Jan Jan!!!!” one excited follower wrote in the comments section of X, while another accurately predicted, “They’re gonna reveal Jan as the new pro watch this space.” A third shared a GIF of Swift sweeping her hand down Ravnik’s bare chest, a move during the pop star’s “Lavender Haze” performance that went viral during the Eras Tour.

Speculation about Ravnik’s DWTS casting sparked earlier this month, when a video of him dancing with pro Jenna Johnson made the rounds on social media. The clip featured the twosome performing Ravnik’s original choreography to Kelly Clarkson’s cover of Billie Eilish’s hit song “Happier Than Ever.”

“If the rumors of jan ravnik being a dwts pro are true, prepared to be SICK of me,” one person tweeted at the time.

Ravnik has sung Swift’s praises on various occasions, previously saying he was “beyong grateful” to be apart of the Eras Tour after his first performance with the “Anti-Hero” singer back in 2023. When the tour wrapped up nearly two years later, he thanks Swift for “changing” his life.

“I still can’t find the words to fully describe what I’m feeling,” he wrote via Instagram in December 2024. “It’s like there’s this weight in my chest, a mix of gratitude, love and sadness, because saying ‘thank you’ just doesn’t seem enough.”

Ravnik added that joining the tour felt like a dream come true, writing, “I never imagined I’d be performing in front of sold out stadiums across the globe. Night after night, I got to share the stage with the most dedicated, creative, and passionate people. 🤍 From my fellow dancers who inspired me to be better every day, to the band and bgv, the crew, and everyone behind the scenes who made the magic happen. A special thank you to [Mandy Moore] for her visionary choreography and guidance that pushed me to grow as an artist. And of course, thank you to Taylor for setting a bar so high it made every one of us rise to the challenge.”

DWTS previously announced its first celebrity contestants of the season, including wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, social media influencer Alix Earle and The Secret Life of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt.

Dancing With the Stars season 34 premieres on ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes are available to stream next day on Hulu.
