Martin Short and Meryl Streep are so freakin’ cute! …And so too are Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco!
So, at the Emmys on Sunday night, Martin was there alongside Selly G and Steve Martin, the third leading star from Only Murders In The Building. Unfortunately for them, though, fourth co-star Meryl wasn’t on hand for the show. But she was there in spirit — and in adorbz BF Martin’s text message inbox!
Nobody would have ever noticed that last part, either, had it not been for the Wizards Of Waverly Place alum and some subtle lip reading. And thus, we are SO here for this!

In a video clip from Sunday night that’s circulating on X (Twitter), the former Disney Channel superstar can be seen leaning over and looking at Short and Martin during a lull in the action at the Emmys. Short had his head pointed down towards his lap, and was smiling fiercely at something.
Selly G craned her neck, looked over, saw what Martin was doing (texting!), and then turned to her other half Benny Blanco and said this, as picked up by lip readers, while making the cutest pouty face ever:
“Marty’s texting Meryl.”
