Looking for your next Prime Video binge this weekend? Screen Rant’s TV experts have hand-picked the 3 best shows to stream from October 17–19, 2025 — a mix of cozy fall favorites, addictive thrillers, and new streaming hits everyone’s talking about.

This mid-October lineup includes Rotten Tomatoes–approved hidden gems and fan-favorite classics that are perfect to start — and finish — before Sunday night. Whether you want something suspenseful or feel-good, these are the must-watch Prime Video shows for your fall weekend.

Our top pick earned a 100% RT score, proving it’s one of Prime Video’s very best shows on the platform. One viewer called it “incredibly original and visually outstanding.”

Want more weekend streaming picks? Check out Screen Rant’s updated guides for Netflix, HBO Max, and Paramount+, and see what else to binge on Prime Video as the fall streaming season heats up.

Tales From The Loop

Tales from the Loop is one of the most critically acclaimed sci-fi series on Prime Video. Released in 2020, the critically acclaimed series earned an impressive 87% Rotten Tomatoes score and was nominated for 2 Emmys, including Outstanding Cinematography and Special Effects.

The 8-part miniseries has a great ensemble cast led by Rebecca Hall (The Town), Paul Schneider (Murdaugh: Death in the Family), Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses), Ato Essandoh (The Diplomat), and Daniel Zolghadri (Eighth Grade). It was created by Nathaniel Halpern, best known for his work on Legion and The Killing, based on the book by Simon Stålenhag. The series also features notable directors Jodie Foster, Ti West, and So Yong Kim.

The official logline for Tales from the Loop reads, “Townspeople live above ‘The Loop,’ a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe.” Mysterious yet dystopian, Tales from the Loop is perfect for fans of high-concept sci-fi series like Silo, Severance, and Dark. However, much like Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone, each episode tells its own self-contained story.

If you’re looking for an immersive, thought-provoking series that feels like classic sci-fi movies of the 20th century, then Tales from the Loop has a lot to offer. If the first episode hooks you, you’ll likely find it hard to stop watching until the end of the series. Consider it a more emotionally moving, less terrifying version of Black Mirror.

The Horror Of Dolores Roach

The Horror of Dolores Roach is a hilarious comedy-horror hybrid from 2023 about an unexpected budding serial killer. We meet Dolores after she is released from an unjust 16-year prison sentence. She reunites with an old friend who hooks her up with a job as a massage therapist. Things quickly go sideways after she kills one of her clients in self-defense.

The Horror of Dolores Roach carries the tone of a comedy series, but goes to some pretty dark places that resemble more of the horror genre. Dexter and You are fine comparisons to this series. However, the comedy is much more at play here than in Dexter, which can be humorous but is still mainly a dramatic thriller series.

Justina Machado (Six Feet Under) and Alejandro Hernández (New Amsterdam) lead the series, which was executive-produced by horror master Jason Blum. The Hollywood Reporter called it “a twisted treat.” The series was canceled after one season by Amazon despite receiving mostly positive critical reception and a solid Rotten Tomatoes score of 81%.

That said, few series on Prime Video combine classic comedy with graphic horror like The Horror of Dolores Roach does, making it a top choice to binge-watch this weekend just weeks before Halloween arrives.

Utopia

Not to be confused with the 2020 Prime Video remake, the original 2013 British series Utopia is often considered one of the greatest UK thriller series ever made. Viewers may recognize lead actor Neil Maskell from series like Peaky Blinders and Hijack. In Utopia, he plays Arby, who is one of a group of people that come into possession of a strange graphic novel.

Utopia also features performances by Adeel Akhtar (The Big Sick), Paul Higgins (In the Loop), Alistair Petrie (The Night Manager), Emilia Jones (Task), Paul Reedy (The Terror), Ian McDiarmid (Star Wars), and more. The series earned a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score along with an outstanding 93% audience score.

The Sydney Morning Herald noted in their review of Utopia, “This clever thriller series created by Dennis Kelly quickly becomes addictive, thanks to its intricate plotting and appealingly ordinary protagonists.” Utopia is one of those series that has it all – originality, humor, cinematic appeal, a thrilling pace, and a great cast.

Utopia may not make for the most cozy weekend watch, but there are few series on Prime Video with as much entertainment value as this one. Even though the series is 12 years old, that doesn’t make it dated, and in fact, many themes and concepts are still heavily relevant today. These factors make it our top choice to binge-watch on Prime Video this weekend.
