Food Network star Bobby Flay and Top Chef winner Brooke Williamson are ready to serve up a rare glimpse of their romance.
During the Monday, December 1, episode of the “Bobby on the Beat” podcast, the couple came together to discuss food and cooking. At the same time, both parties couldn’t help but shine a light on their relationship.
“People like to talk about your personal life but people don’t actually see what happens in your personal life,” Williamson, 47, shared with Flay, 60. “I think we have a lot of fun together, and I’d like to show people what we do.”
During the candid chat, both Flay and Williamson recalled the moment they first met. They also set the record straight on any engagement rumors.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, Flay and Williamson were asked to be judges on an episode of Supermarket Steakout.
“We didn’t know each other,” Flay confessed when recalling the episode filmed in Arizona. “I didn’t really know exactly who you were. I had heard your name but to be frank, I was never a Top Chef watcher. … I thought you were one of the Housewives.”
Williamson added, “I watched you on TV many, many, many years ago, but I kind of hadn’t paid a lot of attention to you over the years — no offense.”

Although the pair didn’t know much about each other, they quickly developed chemistry and enjoyed spending the day together.
“I was really impressed by you,” Flay said. “I was impressed by your food knowledge. I was impressed by your resume.”
Williamson admitted that she didn’t expect Flay “to pay a lot of attention to me.”
Over time, she was impressed with his critiques and the feedback he offered.
“We went and had dinner afterwards and you were so easy to talk to,” she said. “And then I didn’t see you for a year.” They later reconnected after Flay praised Williamson for her Los Angeles Times op-ed about the restaurant industry during COVID.
Bobby Flay Addresses Brooke Williamson’s New Ring
After Williamson was spotted wearing a diamond ring, Flay wanted to set the record straight on what the new piece of jewelry really meant.
“There’s been all these articles written like, ‘Are they engaged now?’ For me, I think it’s important to set the record straight for you because I have so much respect for you and I want you to be treated that way,” he said. “I did give you a ring and it is a diamond ring. You and I have had this conversation. Marriage is not a thing that interests us. I’ve tried it a few times and I’m good where I am now. I wanted to give that to you because I wanted to show my commitment to you in general.”
While Flay acknowledged that some people may find the ring silly or unnecessary, he believes it’s a symbol that the pair are “life partners.”
“To me, that’s the most important thing,” he said. “Having you in my life has really been a special thing for me, for my friends, for my family. You’re spectacular.”

“I’m enjoying life but I’m enjoying my relationship with food as it pertains to you,” Flay gushed to his girlfriend during the episode. “I love talking about food with you. I love going to eat with you. I love cooking with you. I learn stuff from you all the time.”
Williamson added, “I’m never going to run out of things to talk about with you. You have this passion talking about food.”
What Pulls at Bobby Flay’s Heartstrings
While there’s no question that Flay and Williamson share a love for food, there’s something in the kitchen that really melts Flay’s heart.
“I have to tell you, when I see you do something that you’re inspired by, by something that I cook or taught you or something, it is so unbelievably nice,” he shared. “It kind of pulls at my heartstrings when I see that because as you know how important food is to me and how important you are to me, when I see those things kind of mesh together, it’s quite something.”
