“Round 1: Fight!” Whoaaa! This looks awesome! What a delightful December surprise. Legendary & Capcom have unveiled the first look teaser trailer for the badass new live-action Street Fighter movie called simply just Street Fighter. The trailer was revealed during The Game Awards event and it’s a serious must watch. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, this video game adaptation is set to hit theaters October 2026 next year. Street Fighters Ryu & Ken reunite when Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. As they face a hidden conspiracy, they must confront each other and their past – or face destruction. The massive, totally bonkers cast features: Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison (ahahaha!!), Cody Rhodes as Guile, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli. This is exactly how a ridiculously fun Street Fighter movie should look – go all-in being unhinged & entertaining. Let’s rumble!
Here’s the very first “sneak peek” teaser for Kitao Sakurai’s Street Fighter movie, direct from YouTube:
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER! Street Fighter is directed by Japanese-American actor / filmmaker Kitao Sakurai, director of the movies Aardvark and Bad Trip, plus the series “Dave”, “Twisted Metal”, “Butterfly”, and many eps of “The Eric Andre Show” as well. The screenplay is written by Dalan Musson (Iron Sky: The Coming Race, Captain America: Brave New World). Based on the Street Fighter video game series created by Capcom. Produced by Mary Parent. Made by Legendary & Capcom. Paramount opens Sakurai’s Street Fighter movie in theaters starting October 16th, 2026 in the fall next year – stay tuned for more. Who wants to watch this already?
