GlobalComix announces limited “keep it forever” holiday bundle

We all know the digital subscription fatigue: you pay your monthly fee, you binge the content, but the moment you stop paying, your library disappears. It’s the rental trap. But just in time for the holiday rush, GlobalComix is engaging in a little disruption that bridges the gap between streaming convenience and actual digital ownership.

If you haven’t been tracking the digital landscape, GlobalComix (available on iOS/Android and web) has steadily positioned itself as a major competitor to the likes of Kindle/Comixology and individual publisher apps. Their flagship GlobalComix Gold service functions like the “Netflix of Comics,” offering unlimited access to a library of over 100,000 titles—including heavy hitters from IDW, BOOM!, Archie, and increasingly more manga content.

They have made waves recently by aggressively courting publishers like Dark Horse, DC, and Marvel for direct partnership deals, moving beyond just indie titles to become a more comprehensive hub.

The digital platform announced today a new promotion that feels distinctly different from the standard “first month free” offers we’re used to seeing. Here is the twist: GlobalComix is essentially giving away a “starter pack” of high-profile retail comics that subscribers get to keep—permanently—even if they cancel their subscription later.

By tying a specific bundle of premium, recent hits (including major 2025 #1s from Marvel and DC) to their annual Gold plan, they are attempting to solve a major friction point for digital readers: the fear of having nothing to show for your money once the subscription lapses.

Starting now and running through January 5th, 2026, anyone who purchases a GlobalComix Gold annual subscription ($69/year) will receive a curated bundle of 10 digital comics and manga.

According to the press release, the separate retail value of these 10 books is roughly $67, meaning the bundle itself nearly offsets the $69 annual fee. The lineup is notably heavy on recent 2025 launches, suggesting this isn’t just a way to offload backlist content, but a push to get readers hooked on current continuity. The included titles are:

  • Amazing Spider-Man (2025-) #1
  • Amazing Spider-Man (2025-) #2
  • Batman (2025-) #1
  • Blue Lock 1
  • Blue Lock 2
  • Captain America (2025-) #1
  • DC K.O. (2025-) #1
  • DC K.O. (2025-) #2
  • Lone Wolf and Cub Volume 15: Brothers of the Grass
  • Lone Wolf and Cub Volume 16: Gateway into Winter

Kevin Van Ness, Head of Community at GlobalComix, framed the move as an onboarding ramp for new digital collectors: “We want to make sure new readers have a great reason to come back… If you are looking to build a digital collection, this is the best place online to begin.”

The offer is exclusive to first-time purchasers of the annual plan. Readers interested in grabbing the bundle can find the full details on the GlobalComix promo page.
