Jack Black is returning to voice Bowser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and is teasing the upcoming film.
Although he couldn’t say much about the new animated movie, the Orange County actor said video gamers who’ve played Super Mario Galaxy will enjoy the adaptation.
“I am a sworn to secrecy, but there’s tons of Easter eggs, and anyone who loves that universe will be very pleased with the way that it’s been brought to the big screen,” Black told GamesRadar+.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to open in theaters on April 3, 2026. The voice actors returning to the sequel include Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Additions to the cast for the sequel include Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and written by Matthew Fogel. The Illumination and Universal movie is being co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and distributed theatrically worldwide by Universal.
Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023, is the third-highest-grossing animated movie at the global box office with $1.36 billion. The movie opened over Easter and posted the second-best 3-day for the holiday at $166.4 million stateside behind Batman v. Superman ($181M).
