There’s about to be a whole lot more sniktin’ going on. Friday, Marvel teased a sizable new reveal within the pages of Generation X-23, saying the series will reveal even more clones of Laura Kinney.
Ahead of its debut on February 16th, the House of Ideas has unveiled a sneak peek at Generation X-23 #1. In the image, what looks to be an interior page from artist Jacopo Camagni, a handful silhouettes can be seen with various Weapon X designations. In total, six characters are seen with the names X-66, X-73, X-74, X-99, and X-Infinity.
Writer Jody Houser says the readers and Laura Kinney will examine the character’s origin together.
“Laura has done a lot of work coming to terms with how she was raised versus the hero she’s chosen to be, and she’s adjusted to being an older sister figure to Gabby,” the writer says in a new chat with Marvel.com. “GENERATION X-23 puts her in a position to potentially take on a role that we’ve seen Logan in many times over the years — mentor and teacher. But the fact that it is tied closely to her past complicates things.”
On a larger scale, Generation-X stars both Kinney and her clone “sister” Gabby, now known by Scout in the wider Marvel mythos.
