Failure have announced their new album, Location Lost, out April 24 via Failure Records/Arduous Records/Virgin Music Group. Written and recorded after the completion of the band’s documentary Every Time You Lose Your Mind, Location Lost is an exploration of where the band are headed and who they are.
The announcement includes “The Air’s On Fire,” written after vocalist/guitarist Ken Andrews obtained a back injury that needed surgery shortly after editing the documentary. Although the surgery was successful, Andrews struggled with the recovery, forcing him to confront his medical anxieties. “That song is directly about my surgery and waking up,” he explains. “I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, ‘Turn the air on. I’m fine — just take me home.’ I was definitely not fine.”

Location Lost includes nine tracks, including a feature with Paramore’s Hayley Williams on “The Rising Skyline.” The collaboration was long in the making after Williams expressed her appreciation for the band, even appearing in the documentary alongside Butch Vig and Steve Albini.
In the spring, Failure will begin their headline North American tour with an album release show on April 21 in Los Angeles, perform at Sick New World in Las Vegas, and will conclude the tour at the Opera House in Toronto.
