More bad news for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew!
As you may know, the disgraced royal could still become the King of England despite losing all of his titles, honors, and public role back in 2025 due to his association with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein! Shocking, we know! He is currently eighth in line for the throne. Something would have to happen to Prince William, his three children, Prince Harry, and his two kids, so there’s a very slim chance of him taking the throne. However, it is still a possibility, at least, for now! All that could change following his arrest this week!

As we previously reported, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on Thursday. The US Department of Justice released more documents from the Epstein files weeks ago, which revealed he allegedly shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment between 2001 and 2011. Because of that, the BBC reported on Saturday that the British government is considering introducing legislation to remove the ex-prince from the line of succession. That means he would NEVER become king!
Whoa!
Don’t expect him to get the boot right now, though. The BBC noted that if legislation is introduced, it will come after the police investigation into Andrew ends. It is also a long process. Removing the former Duke of York from the line of succession reportedly would require an Act of Parliament and the consent of the 14 Commonwealth realms where King Charles is monarch. The BBC noted Downing Street previously said that it didn’t plan to introduce a law to make the change back in October. Support is growing for such legislation, though, including from the Liberal Democrats and SNP. Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey told BBC that police should be “allowed to get on with their job, acting without fear or favour,” adding:
“But clearly this is an issue that Parliament is going to have to consider when the time is right, naturally the monarchy will want to make sure he can never become King.”
Labour MP Rachael Maskell also said she “would support legislation to remove Andrew from the line of succession and to remove from the counsellor of state.”
We’ll see what happens! And something also tell us that the government would get the full support of the royal family! Especially since they’re in damage control mode amid the fallout of Andrew’s scandal!
