The pros behind the lens for Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another and Apple TV’s The Studio were named Camera Operator of the Year in film and TV, respectively, by the Society of Camera Operators on Saturday.
Colin Anderson took the movie prize for Paul Thomas Anderson’s awards-season juggernaut starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. He also had been nominated for A24’s Marty Supreme. Mark Goellnicht won for the TV comedy starring Seth Rogen.

The SOC unveiled the winners during the group’s 2026 SOC Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony, which was presented as a virtual livestream in recognition of the prolonged and devastating slowdown in U.S. production and the challenges faced by SOC members and industry partners.
The SOC’s President’s Award was presented to Nick Phillips, inventor and founder of Libra Head, whose groundbreaking stabilization technology has become one of the most relied-upon tools in modern image-making.

“Camera operators are the connective tissue between vision and audience,” said Mathew Moriarty, President of the Society of Camera Operators. “The past several years have presented extraordinary challenges for our industry, yet our work has remained bold, inventive and deeply human. This year’s recipients and nominees represent the highest standard of our craft and the enduring strength and resilience of the camera community.”
