Well, this is awkward… and, if this report is really true, it’s also pretty upsetting.
Just weeks after Pink slammed what she called “fake news” about her marriage, new reporting claims those rumors supposedly may not have been so off-base after all. And if the latest insider chatter really is true, the pop powerhouse and her longtime hubby Carey Hart might actually be quietly preparing for life apart. Hmmm…

So, as you’ll no doubt recall, back in February, the 46-year-old singer jumped on Instagram to mock reports claiming she had separated from the former pro motocross racer. Clearly irritated, she sarcastically addressed the speculation at the time and insisted she had no idea what people were talking about. She said this in a video from that time:
“So, I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband. I didn’t know. Thank you for letting me know. Would you also like to tell our children? My 14-year-old and my 9-year-old are also unaware.”
At the time, it seemed like a pretty definitive shutdown of what was then an uncertain rumor mill. But interestingly, Carey never publicly backed up her comments. And now, insiders are claiming there may have been more going on behind the scenes than fans realized.
According to a source speaking to Page Six on Monday, the couple is currently figuring out what their future actually looks like — and that includes discussing the very real possibility of separating. What?! Really??
To that end, the insider explained:
“They haven’t worked out the technicalities of how it will work with the kids and where they’ll each be based full time.”
Whoa.
The insider claims Pink was genuinely caught off guard when breakup chatter started spreading publicly. Apparently, the timing was the biggest issue:
“They weren’t ready to have it [a breakup] out there just yet… Pink just wants to protect the kids, which is entirely fair.”
And again, if that’s really true, protecting their kids seems to be the top priority as they navigate whatever comes next. For now, the pair have relocated to New York City after temporarily leaving their massive 200-acre vineyard estate in California’s Santa Ynez Valley. The move is apparently tied to their daughter Willow pursuing her Broadway dreams, and the whole family has been spending time together in the city.

In fact, over the weekend they looked like the picture of family bliss while attending the Broadway musical & Juliet with Willow and their son Jameson. Pink even posted a snap from the outing on her IG Stories — and sources say the family stayed afterward to greet members of the cast.
But that closeness may actually be part of a bigger plan. The insider explained:
“In a lot of ways they’re going to appear closer than ever right now, but it’s because they’re finalizing plans for how they’ll successfully co-parent and uncouple. They want to be a united front for their kids, and so they are staying very close to each other right now — but it’s literally because they are laying the groundwork for what comes next.”
Oof.
It’s never a good sign when that “uncouple” word comes out. If, ya know, we can truly believe this insider. After all, Pink has already clapped back hard at breakup reports once in the last few weeks! Who’s to say she won’t strike back again?

Of course, if you know the history between these two, you know their relationship has never exactly followed a traditional path. Pink and Carey first met at the Summer X Games in 2001, dated on and off, and eventually tied the knot in 2006. Two years later they separated, only to reconcile in 2009 after taking time to work on themselves.
Over the years, Pink has been honest about the ups and downs of their marriage. She once even admitted that their independence might actually be the secret to their longevity, explaining they don’t necessarily need each other but choose to be together.
Whether that philosophy will ultimately keep them together again this time remains to be seen. For now, if this source is truly right about this stuff, it sure sounds like the focus is on their kids, their family dynamic, and figuring out the next chapter apart from each other… however that ends up looking like.
