Taylor Frankie Paul is sharing her version of events regarding the domestic violence incident earlier this year. Plus, a judge’s latest temporary decision when it comes to her youngest son! Let’s get into it…
Perezcious readers know The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has been in hot water ever since production halted on the fifth season of the show due to an ongoing investigation regarding a domestic assault with Dakota Mortensen that happened back in February. Both have made allegations of abuse against each other, with Dakota claiming during a heated argument that she choked him, shoved him into a window, and struck him.
In a protective order filing, he alleged he called 911, but Taylor “pressured and manipulated” him into telling the dispatcher that their child was just sick, and that he didn’t actually need help. It’s also claimed she threatened to harm herself during the situation. And she allegedly didn’t stop her “aggressive behavior” even when he got into bed with their 2-year-old son Ever Mortensen, who woke up during the fight.

The fighting continued into the following night. Dakota claimed she threw his phone into the wall and “physically blocked [him] from exiting” the home. Once he got into his truck, she allegedly “grabbed and squeezed” his face, hit parts of the car, and poured a drink on him. Dakota said he “pushed her away from [him], which she made contact with the passenger seat.” All while Ever had been left inside, per the filing. The court granted his request, which meant Taylor temporarily lost custody of the toddler.
A lot, right? Well, there is now an update over the matter. And that’s not all! Taylor also shared her side of the story as she filed for a protective order against him!
According to documents obtained by People and Page Six on Tuesday, Taylor accused Dakota of having a “pattern of abusive conduct and coercive control” in their relationship. She recounted several alleged incidents in which he acted violently towards her, along with providing text messages and photos of bruises as proof in the filing. In the petition, Taylor claimed Dakota assaulted her in her home in March 2025, which “left noticeable bruising on various parts of her body.” The MomTok star claimed she “demanded” that Dakota leave her house at the time, but when he “refused,” their argument “escalated.” The docs continued:
“Taylor lost her footing, at which time Dakota proceeded to kick her while she was on the floor.”
On February 14, 2026, Taylor alleged Dakota “tattooed [her] initials to the inside of his lip and sent [her] a photo,” which allegedly traumatized her since their relationship had already ended by that point. Per the filing, he then “bombard[ed]” her with texts “in an unwelcome attempt to resume their relationship,” and she feels it’s “possessive and controlling.”
Everything came to a head on February 22. Dakota allegedly showed up at her house early that morning to confront “[her] over her decision to break off the relationship.” The filing claimed she “made multiple requests to [Mortensen] that he leave her home,” and “he refused.” He eventually left but returned later that night, which “put [Paul] in fear of abuse.”
The following day, Dakota allegedly came back to her home and “demanded to again speak with Taylor about their relationship.” She agreed to talk to him outside of the house so as not to wake up her three children, who were asleep inside. Taylor then alleged Dakota “assaulted” her by “slamming her head against the dashboard of his truck and striking her knee and elbow” after driving her away from her home against her will.
Whoa…
While in court on Tuesday to discuss time with Ever for Taylor, her attorney noted she has photos of the bruises from the alleged attack. He further claimed that she demanded “he leave” after the incident, and he refused. The lawyer said Dakota eventually dropped her back off home but stuck around outside her front door step and even texted her:
“Do you want to f**k?”
In the filing, Taylor went on to accuse Dakota of trying to “sabotage” her career once he realized their romantic relationship was over:
“Mine and Dakota’s relationship has been tumultuous, with several periods in which we have argued or outright broken up. The fact that our relationship was over finally dawned on Dakota in February 2026, which led him to take actions that scared me and made me fear for my safety. For the most part, our co-parenting dynamic has functioned adequately. Recently, however, in an effort to sabotage my career, Dakota filed a protective order against me on March 19, 2026.”
How horrifying if true!
As we mentioned, Taylor and Dakota were in court today to discuss her getting time with Ever. The judge granted the reality star supervised visitation after her legal team called out Dakota’s lack of credibility — and his attorneys voiced concerns over her “volatility,” citing February 2026 and May 2025 incidents. Last year, Taylor allegedly got “volatile” and started “shoving” Dakota while he was holding Ever. He even almost “tripped” during the incident. All of which Dakota captured in a video. However, her team argued that she had asked him to leave her house multiple times before the situation escalated and he began recording the incident after that point.
The judge ultimately decided Taylor could have up to eight hours of supervised visitation with Ever per week until another hearing over the protective orders on April 30. What will happen next, we’ll see. But Judge Russell Minas expressed he has “concerns going both ways,” noting Dakota’s alleged “pushing of buttons to get reaction” and Taylor’s “troubling” reactions to the aggravation.
