One of HBO‘s popular TV shows is finally returning today, featuring Emmy Award nominee Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus). The first episode of Euphoria Season 3 officially debuts tonight at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes of the long-awaited third installment will be released weekly, leading up to its season finale on Sunday, May 31.
What do we know about HBO Max’s Euphoria Season 3?
Euphoria Season 3 will feature the return of its star-studded cast, including Emmy winner Zendaya as Rue, Golden Globe nominee Jacob Elordi as Nate, Hunter Schafer as Jules, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Sweeney as Cassie, and Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo as Ali. At the moment, the latest season has already garnered an approval rating of 45% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the lowest-rated installment of the series. The first two seasons had both received Certified Fresh scores after debuting.
The show is created and written by Sam Levinson, who is also executive producing with Zendaya and Drake. In a previous interview, Levinson confirmed that the next installment will take place five years after the events of the Season 2 finale. Fans will see Rue trying to find a way to pay off her debt to Laurie, while Jules is now attending an art school. As for Cassie and Nate, they are now engaged and are living in the suburbs. Meanwhile, Maddy is in Hollywood working at a talent agency, while Lexi becomes a showrunner’s assistant.
Additional returning cast members include Maude Apatow as Lexi, Dominic Fike as Elliot, Eric Dane as Cal, Martha Kelly as Laurie, Chloe Cherry as Faye, Nika King as Leslie, and Alanna Ubach as Suze. Season 3 will also introduce new characters played by Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten, Asante Blackk, Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Sam Trammell.
