After devoting much of the past two years to her starring role as Glinda in the Wicked film franchise, Ariana Grande has announced her eighth studio album, petal, arriving July 31 via Republic Records. It’s her first full-length release since 2024’s eternal sunshine.
Executive produced and co-written by Grande alongside longtime collaborator ILY A, petal is described as a more organic, growth-focused project. Grande portrays the album as “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.” petal is available for pre-order now across standard physical and digital formats, including vinyl, CD, cassette and a direct-to-consumer exclusive LP variant.
eternal sunshine debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced back-to-back Hot 100-topping singles, “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).” The artist has now notched eight consecutive platinum albums and more than 125 billion streams globally. She’ll return to the road for her first extensive tour since 2019 beginning June 6 in Oakland, Ca.
Wicked and its follow-up Wicked: For Good have collectively grossed more than $1.2 billion worldwide and earned Grande nominations at the Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTAs, further cementing her crossover status. Next, she’s also set to appear in Focker-In-Law alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro later this year, while additional projects include a planned West End debut in Sunday in the Park with George and voice work in an animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.
