Fox is building out the cast of its upcoming psychological spy thriller show, tapping Tulsa King star for a major role in the straight-to-series drama. The Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios production has handed the project, titled The Interrogator, a 12-episode order. It is reportedly being targeted for the 2026-27 broadcast season.
Michael Beach joins the cast of The Interrogator
Michael Beach has signed on as a series regular, taking the role of Louis, the first member of protagonist Conrad Henry’s elite team, in the upcoming show The Interrogator, Deadline reported. Henry is a former MI6 agent played by Stephen Fry. He leads a unit that deploys unconventional psychological tactics when standard interrogation methods fail. The official logline describes Henry as wielding “quirky charm, superior intellect, and mind-bending behavioral maneuvers” to extract information from dangerous criminals (via MovieWeb).
Louis operates as the team’s audiovisual and IT expert. He feeds Henry real-time facts and figures during operations. Further, he has been described as dryly witty, with a warm demeanor that masks a brutal personal history. His skills extend well beyond technology. He handles electronics, explosives, and even plumbing repairs. The character also functions as Henry’s closest confidant and moral anchor, with the two men having rescued each other in a past crisis that cemented their bond.
Michael Beach has become part of The Interrogator with a slate of prominent credits. He appeared as Police Chief Dan Carter in Netflix’s The Perfect Couple. He also continues his role as Mark Mitchell on Paramount+’s Tulsa King opposite Sylvester Stallone. He also co-stars on Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner.
Fox‘s The Interrogator’s pilot script was penned by Fry, who remains an executive producer. Revisions from Matt Pyken and William Harper followed. Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie will serve as executive producers and showrunners. Further, Paul McGuigan holds an executive producer credit and will also direct.
A release date for The Interrogator has not been announced yet.
