Oh, this CONTINUES to be getting messier by the week!
Just when it seemed like the chatter surrounding Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel couldn’t possibly get any louder, a newly surfaced photo from Super Bowl weekend in 2022 is adding even more fuel to the fire. And you just know NFL insiders are buzzing about this one behind closed doors!

The snapshot, reportedly taken at a VIP NFL Honors after-party in Los Angeles ahead of Super Bowl LVI, shows the now-former ESPN personality cozied up to the now-former Tennessee Titans head coach while the two mingled among football royalty. In the pic, Russini appears to have her arm wrapped around Vrabel’s back as she leans in close to speak to him during the party.
Now, before everybody completely loses their minds, sources who attended the bash told TMZ on Monday that nothing inappropriate was happening at the event itself. Apparently, the atmosphere was loud thanks to a live performance by Kings of Leon, and attendees say people had to get close just to hear each other over the music. Fair enough! But considering everything that has since come out about the pair’s relationship, this photo is definitely going to raise eyebrows.
At the time, the event was packed with NFL executives, coaches, reporters, and media personalities celebrating the league’s biggest stars. Vrabel had just taken home Coach of the Year honors, while Russini was working the red carpet for ESPN earlier that evening, TMZ noted. So, yes, this absolutely would have been the kind of industry event where both of them would naturally be hanging around the same crowd.
Still, hindsight is a powerful thing. As fans already know, rumors surrounding Russini and Vrabel exploded into public view recently and have caused major personal and professional fallout. Russini stepped away from her role at The Athletic last month amid the growing controversy, while Vrabel has been seeking counseling as the scrutiny intensifies.
And this wasn’t the first time the two had allegedly been spotted spending time together outside of strictly professional settings. As we’ve noted, they had been socializing privately as far back as 2021, including taking a private boat outing together while Russini was pregnant.

What makes the saga even more explosive, of course, is the fact that both have long-standing marriages and families. Russini has been married since 2020 and shares two children with her husband, while Vrabel has been married since 1999 and is also a father of two. So, amid ALL that, this story honestly doesn’t seem like it’s cooling off anytime soon.
