The Valley star Danny Booko was due to appear on Watch What Happens Live tomorrow night alongside co-star Luke Broderick.
When it was suddenly revealed that he would no longer be appearing and that Tom Schwartz would be going on in his place, online chatter sprang up.
Some thought it had to do with him avoiding wanting to discuss his behavior, which has been under scrutiny this year, with one person on Reddit surmising he’s “afraid.”
Reality Blurb spoke exclusively to his wife, Nia Booko, who explained what’s going on – and Danny being afraid couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Daniel got a great work opportunity on a huge new movie,” Nia explained as to why he will be absent from tomorrow night’s live taping. “He’s so bummed to not be in NYC. He was planning on being there.”
She also shared they tried to see if they could’ve made today work, where he would’ve flown into NYC quickly to tape the show and gone back home, but it “unfortunately didn’t work out.”
Nia pointed us toward Danny’s Instagram Story for his statement, as he addressed the topic as well.
“A little change of plans this week,” Danny wrote. “Instead of heading to NYC for press, I’ll be staying in LA working on an incredible new project that came together last minute and was way too good to pass up.”
“Feeling very grateful and blessed,” he added. “More to come.”
Danny has taken heat for his behavior on recent episodes, including when he asked why Nia wasn’t letting the nanny handle certain things when she was with them on a cast trip. He recently explained his frustrations on the May 13 episode of The Valley: After Show.
“We paid for Lena, who is an absolute angel and very capable of doing everything with the child, except breastfeed … [So] there was a little bit of, ‘Why am I being asked to do so many things that are easily done and can be easily done by the babysitter, who we have out here?’” he stated. “When it’s stuff during the day … it was one of those things that was a little frustrating of like, hey, we brought a sitter here so we could have quality time, be around some friends, and not have the other three kids.”
“We do have help, so let’s use it as much as we can,” Danny elaborated.
Nia, for her part, admitted she struggled to pass over tasks to their nanny even though she wanted to get in some time with her husband.
“Even though I’m trying to have more time with my husband because we have help, I’m still in mom mode. I can’t escape it,” she revealed. “I feel like he just had a picture in his head, what it would look like, and that just was not the reality, so there was frustration because we were on different pages.”
