Ariana Madix cleared up misconceptions about the sale of her home with ex Tom Sandoval, shared an update on her relationship with Daniel Wai, and addressed what it’s like hosting Love Island: USA.
Three years ago, the Vanderpump Rules star broke up with her boyfriend, Tom, after discovering his affair. But the exes remained in their house together throughout the split, despite their attempts to sell it. Last month, reports surfaced that they finally found a buyer – two months after she officially moved out.
On the Disrespectfully podcast, Ariana shared that she and Daniel are still going strong.
“He’s good,” said the star, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “He’s gonna come over my birthday again, which I feel like is a good time to come to Fiji [as I’m hosting Love Island]. So he’s coming to LA to basically help me pack [for the move] and get ready, and then he’ll send me off. And then he’s gonna come to Fiji over my birthday, which yeah, I feel like it works out well.”
She then addressed what it’s like hosting the dating show.
“We shoot the intro, there’s all the stuff that we have to do, like leading up to the premiere and then that premiere week, I’m usually in there a lot,” she explained. “So it’s like the premiere night, usually maybe if there’s some sort of twist, that first After Sun [show], like that first week can be pretty hectic.”
“So the first time that [Daniel] came out, we realized that wasn’t really the best time,” Ariana added. “So yeah, he’s gonna come out around my birthday for like two weeks, I think, and that’ll be fun. But both of us have been kind of splitting our time back and forth between here and New York. So I wouldn’t even consider us to be long-distance, really, at this point. So that’s been really nice. Cause he’s here a lot.”
She later dished on selling her old house with Tom.
“[It feels] great,” she said. “I feel like there’s a couple more docu-signs for me somewhere in my email. I’m sure that will keep coming up. So I don’t want to jinx anything, but I’m pretty sure it’s closed. I don’t know. I signed a docu-sign yesterday, so that’s why I get very like, where’s the money in my account?”
“I wanted to get my money out of it so I could invest that money somewhere else,” she said. “I think that was really the last thing because, I mean, as far as the house itself, it was pretty much, it was kind of out of sight, out of mind, and I have my stuff somewhere else, and I’ve had my own house for a while. So parts of it were very much not really on my mind, but then it is kind of just one of those things where you’re like, oh yeah, I gotta take care of that.”
She then cleared up the misconceptions.
“I see people online who think that I’m not getting any money from the sale. Yes, I am,” she went on. “Or that I had to pay his HELOC loan. No, I don’t. Never did. Just like I said I wouldn’t.”
Ariana hinted that she could potentially return for another season of St. Dennis Medical.
“I did just wrap up three episodes on St. Dennis, which was really fun,” she said. “St. Dennis Medical on NBC, if you haven’t seen it, watch it, it’s really funny and the cast is really amazing. They left my character pretty open-ended, so it would be really cool to come back. … So hopefully that’s something that may happen, I don’t know. And there’s some things I’m working on that I can’t talk about yet.”
