Netflix’s biggest 2026 show hit millions of views, but its Rotten Tomatoes scores tell a different story. The latest Harlan Coben adaptation’s mediocre ratings reveal a gap between viewership and actual reception.
I Will Find You has divided both critics and fans on Rotten Tomatoes
I Will Find You hit 24 million views during its debut window and became Netflix’s biggest original premiere of 2026. However, the Harlan Coben adaptation’s Rotten Tomatoes scores paint a less triumphant picture. The show holds a 62% Tomatometer score from 29 critic reviews. Meanwhile, audience reception sits at just 66% on the Popcornmeter from over 100 ratings.
These mediocre scores reveal a clear gap between massive viewership and actual reception. The show currently sits in the “fresh” category but remains far from certified fresh status. Strong debut numbers have not translated into strong critical or audience consensus for the eight-episode miniseries.
Critics have offered mixed assessments of the series starring Sam Worthington and Britt Lower. Peter Travers of The Travers Take gave the show 3 out of 4 stars. He noted that “even when the new Harlan Coben suspense series goes off the rails, the thrills keep coming.” James Jackson of The Times gave it 3 out of 5 stars. He described the show as feeling “merely clinically efficient” despite its absurd plot.
Audience reactions have proven equally polarizing across the Rotten Tomatoes platform. One viewer called it “incredibly dull acting” with “awful dialogues” and “unbelievably stupid” plotting. Another described it as “the best mystery show I’ve ever seen” and praised the writing. This stark contrast reflects the divided response captured in the middling 66% audience score.
The series follows David Burroughs, a man imprisoned for his son’s murder who discovers the child may still be alive. Britt Lower plays his sister-in-law Rachel, who delivers the shocking evidence. All episodes of I Will Find You are currently streaming on Netflix.
