“I say it every time. Social media has ruined society. People watch other people live a certain lifestyle on social media then go into depression cause they aren’t living that lifestyle,” one user wrote. “This makes me very sad for 20 year olds. It wasn’t like this when I was 20,” another wrote.
“I know she’s just sharing her own experience but this is such a dangerous message for young minds to consume. It’s actually quite abnormal for a 21 year old to feel like they’re doing something wrong because they can’t afford a lavish lifestyle,” someone said, while one more person agreed, “Really and truly hate that we live in a world where a 21 year old thinks she’s a failure because a handful of other people her age are on yachts and buying expensive things, when 99% of the population is struggling financially.”
