Knightfall: Part 2 – Knightquest trailer reveals Jean-Paul Valley’s Batman
Pablo Schreiber takes on the role of Gotham’s new Dark Knight in the trailer for Batman: Knightfall – Part 2: Knightquest.
Schreiber voices Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Azrael, who assumes the Batman mantle after Bane defeats Bruce Wayne and leaves him with a broken back. With Bruce unable to protect Gotham, Valley is chosen to continue the fight as the city remains under threat from criminals released by Bane. The trailer introduces Schreiber’s Jean-Paul Valley as the main figure in the sequel, showing the character stepping into a role previously held by Bruce Wayne.
Valley takes over at a time when Gotham is still dealing with the fallout from Bane’s attack. In Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall, Bane destroys Arkham Asylum and frees its inmates, sending numerous criminals back onto Gotham’s streets. Bruce’s attempts to bring the situation under control eventually lead to his confrontation with Bane, which ends with Bane breaking his back and forcing him out of action.
The sequel draws from the Knightquest section of the Knightfall comic storyline, originally published between 1993 and 1994. The animated version is the second chapter of Warner Bros. Animation’s planned three-part adaptation. Anson Mount returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, with Michael Mando reprising his role as Bane, while Jack Griffo voices Tim Drake/Robin.
Warner Bros. Animation plans to release Batman: Knightfall – Part 2: Knightquest later in 2026, though the studio has not yet announced an exact date. It aims to release the third installment in 2027, concluding the trilogy with the KnightsEnd storyline.
