As reported by TMZ and multiple other outlets on Wednesday, Home Improvement star Jonathan Taylor Thomas had a run-in with the law near Malibu this week.
JTT was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly resisted deputies during a traffic stop in Westlake Village. He was not the driver of the vehicle they pulled over, but a passenger.
According to a statement given to People magazine from law enforcement:
“The driver was being detained for DUI investigation. Sometime during the investigation, Mr. Taylor decided he would exit the vehicle. Deputies told him to sit back down in the vehicle. He was uncooperative with them, failed to follow orders, and obstructed the investigation, so he was arrested for obstruction, and he was arrested for [suspicion of being] drunk in public.”
The reason the car was pulled over in the first place is because it was allegedly stopped at an intersection “with a green light blocking traffic,” per a report obtained by E! News.
Then, during his alleged refusal to cooperate, TMZ‘s sheriff’s department sources claim he allegedly kicked a deputy in the stomach. He was then reportedly arrested and booked on suspicion of obstruction and public intoxication. He was detained at Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station’s jail, where he was released the following day.
The former child star has not commented at this time.
