The Today Show is set to face a major change next week as all hosts will travel to Kenmare in Ireland for a special episode on October 16. All four hours of the NBC show will be broadcast from Ireland, with the news having been revealed during the Friday instalment of Today.
During the morning boost segment, Dylan Dreyer, Craig Melvin, Carson Daly, and Laura Jarrett chatted virtually to Brian Loughnane, general manager of Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare. Brian will host the Today Show stars – and he couldn’t be more excited about it.
“How would you describe it?” Laura asked Brian of the Kenmare region. “Kenmare is a picture postcard of what you envision for Ireland, it’s a beautiful town with different shops, we have artisan boutiques, restaurants, clubs,” Brian replied. “Small village, lots of fun and just a great community. You’re really coming to the jewel in the crown of Ireland. We have beautiful mountains, waterfalls and we’re on the sea. Amazing golf courses.”

“Carson Daly here, excited to come home,” joked the host. “One of the things we want to do, I want to orchestrate some sort of pub crawl. When we’re there, in the town, what are the locals like? What should we be chatting about in the pub?” added Carson.
“They’ll lead the conversation, you’re one of the stronger Irish people among the group and your golfing prowess has also exceeded you here,” said Brian.

Although the hit show often travels overseas, broadcasting four hours live from Ireland with all hosts present is a significant shift.

So no matter what happens, we’re going to be in great shape,” Al ensured, noting that the show, which has been on the air since 1952, is “built to evolve.”
He continued: “Each one of us is very fortunate to be in this position, for however long we have, and then we pass the baton off to somebody else. So the future of the show is just as strong and bright no matter who steps in.”
