Though Jay-Z‘s list of guests joining him on stage at his SoFi Stadium kickoff wasn’t as crazy-huge as the one for his Yankee Stadium run, surprise appearances still helped make the show shine in his much-anticipated tour return to Los Angeles on Friday (Oct. 23).
His two-night engagement at SoFi is part of JAY-Z30, the celebration of it being 30 years since the release of his classic debut album Reasonable Doubt.
Jay’s daughter Blue Ivy was in the house, plus Scarface, DJ Khaled and John Legend.
Blue Ivy was on the keys for “The Story of O.J.” (from 4:44) and “Dead Presidents” (Reasonable Doubt) on the 33-song setlist.

Scarface took the stage with Jay on “This Can’t Be Life” (The Dynasty: Roc La Familia) and the Geto Boys’ “Mind Playing Tricks on Me” (We Can’t Be Stopped).
It all came to a close with “God Did” (from DJ Khaled’s album of the same name), featuring both DJ Khaled and John Legend onstage with the Brooklyn rap legend.
Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, G-Eazy, Tia Mowry, and Omari Hardwick were among the familiar faces in attendance Friday night. Jay-Z’s back on the stage for night two on Saturday.
Chatter swirled earlier in the week over the rumor that Jay-Z will recommend himself as the headlining performer for the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show next year, which also takes place at SoFi Stadium. If he does headline halftime at the big game, it’ll be his first time on the Super Bowl stage in a career that’s spanned more than 30 years. As of Saturday afternoon, the speculation remains unconfirmed.
His concert weekend in L.A. follows a star-studded trio of shows in New York City in July — where he welcomed Beyonce, Rihanna, Emimem, Alicia Keys, Nas and more to the stage — and shows in Paris and London. In September, he released his JAY-Z in 8 docuseries with Rick Rubin on HBO Max.
