Karen is leaning into putting herself first and Courtney opens up about fertility issues on this episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Ashley plans a trip to Bethany Beach (here’s hoping it’ll be better than the last one) and Wendy confronts Tia and her husband with hard-hitting questions. It seems like a pivotal chapter for many of these women in their marriages and in friendships.
Karen is just trying to have fun and she loves being around Ashley…in a lingerie shop. She explains that her husband, Ray, asked her out to dinner, which is great considering they are working on their marriage.
Courtney joins the ladies and talks about being a minister. She shares that it has been a lot of pressure to uphold a certain standard, but she has no problem parading around the shop in a sheer onesie for Karen and the rest of the world.
Ashley questions Courtney about her car videos regarding her prophecies and one in particular which went viral. Courtney believes that it was never meant to be fear mongering and shares that she has been prophetic all her life. She explains that she has seen angels pass over and dead relatives visit her. So that’s something new about Courtney.
Tia and her mother head out for a meal together. Tia wants her mom to talk to her husband about the dating app situation, but her mother is partial to Rob. Tia explains that her father had a whole other family, so perhaps her mom is not as ruffled by Rob “having his ugly pictures on a dating app.” Tia remains cool, calm, and collected about the whole issue.
Gizelle is heading to Congress. She is ready to tell her story so that less people have to die of brain tumors and brain cancer. The death of her dad was very sudden and so she still tries to do things in his honor. Gizelle cannot wait to make her dad proud.
Ashley talks about the changes in her household- she now has her cousin and his girlfriend living with her. There’s a new nanny, too! Ashley feels very responsible to give back to her family, so when her uncle comes by for a visit, she brings up the idea of getting a family beach home (well, since she got $20 million out of her divorce!!) that she could rent out. Ashley wants to split this home financially with her uncle- a family endeavor, if you will.
Wendy explains that the issues with Eddie remain OUTSIDE of their home to maintain a sense of normalcy with the children. Wendy tells Eddie that Tia and Rob are merely co-existing now, and they are not having sex. Eddie claims that he knows what that is like…
Wendy talks about Gizelle’s advice to stick together through this difficult time. Eddie wonders if Wendy is compelled to stay with him or does she still love him despite all of the legal problems. They both claim to love one another, but admit they are a work in progress.
Gizelle went to six different congressional offices to tell her story. She believes that everyone is on board because it is important to get the funding to help future generations.
Stacey, Thiemo, and their daughter head out for a tea around town. The purpose is to tell her about their re-engagement, but she is more distracted by the food. After a bit, their daughter explains that she thinks it would be nice to have her parents back together and begins prepping for their wedding.
Ashley is planning a trip to Bethany Beach because she is looking for her family vacation home. Tia is her realtor and so she is thinking that this is going to be a fun girls’ trip. Gizelle is not thrilled, considering the last time they took this trip, things didn’t go so well. Robyn feels like Ashley is just trying to have drama with someone, but she plans on taking the trip anyway.
Courtney opens up about her fertility testing. Her egg reserve is on the low end of the possibility of conceiving. She is beyond upset, but her husband, Alexis, does a good job of consoling her. Courtney feels a big sense of responsibility because she was working on her career and feels like she lost her window. Another obstacle that she needs to overcome is the loss of a fallopian tube and an ovary after a procedure about 10 years ago. It seems like the odds are stacked against them to get pregnant again.
Karen explains that once she got sober, she moved into separate bedrooms. This way she can take care of herself, but still stay in the same house as Ray. Non-sober Karen was more fun and sexy to Ray. He explains that he was shocked Karen did not come home and “tear” him “up.” Ray admits that he did feel like Karen always did drink more than he thought was normal. Karen tells Ray that he does not even know her and she does not know what is in the future for them as a couple. Karen is not willing to sacrifice herself for anyone anymore.
Tia is heading out for a double-date with Eddie and Wendy. This dinner is the first time they are heading out as a couple and although the silence is deafening between them, Tia is happy to be doing this. Wendy explains that everyone seems to be in an interesting place with their relationships and wonders if this is the darkest moment for Tia and her Rob.
Tia does not believe that pictures on the internet are the darkest time of her life and Wendy pushes to find out if there was any infidelity. Wendy is asking all the questions and Tia believes that it is a deflection tactic. Wendy wonders why Tia forever travels without Rob and feels like maybe that’s why Rob is so lonely…hence the dating app situation. Wendy outright asks Rob why he feels lonely.
Wendy believes that Tia has been avoiding asking Rob these questions, so she is just gonna help her out. Rob claims he is embarrassed for his wife and shares that they will work through their issues. Wendy states that they are rooting for them as a couple, and Tia flips it, saying she is rooting for Wendy and Eddie, as well.
Tia asks Wendy how much their children know about their criminal case and we learn that their oldest Googled their names. No matter how hard things are getting, the wives believe that they have made it to the other side with their husbands.
Eddie explains that Wendy was caught off guard when everything came to a head, and now she is getting into the weeds. At the time, Wendy did not know what was going on according to Eddie. Once again, there seems to be an implication that Eddie might be responsible for their legal drama.
“I think it’s just one of those things where you know for example, if you’re charged with paying the mortgage every month, and then 9 months later, sheriff’s coming at your door saying it’s time for you guys to get out of the house [because] you haven’t paid the mortgage,” shared Eddie as he gave an example in explaining what caused tension in his marriage to Wendy.
He added, “it’s one of those situations where Wendy was caught off guard… She’s not handling things. She didn’t know anything going on.”
Perhaps it might be time to taken Karen’s diss advice and zip it? Must say if they’re not planning to take a plea deal, they are saying a lot and seem to be implying some wrongdoing on Eddie’s part.
Wendy then warns that “even if you have your role, you still need to know everything that is going on in your house.” Touché.
