Bobby Brown is sharing issues he by no means thought he would.
The hit R&B singer sat down with PEOPLE forward of his new A&E documentary Biography: Bobby Brown, premiering Could 30, to debate the most important triumphs and tragedies of his life, together with his battle with habit, the lack of two of his kids and a traumatic secret he is stored hidden for over 40 years.
Brown, 53, grew up in a tough part of Boston and says that his first nice loss was that of his innocence. Within the documentary, he remembers being a younger baby and witnessing his mom being crushed and arrested by police after attempting to intervene within the arrest of some neighbors.

The star says he didn’t plan for the painful reminiscence to floor. “I had tucked it down so deep into my soul that I did not assume that I’d discuss it once more,” says Brown, who says as a child he coped by embracing music and rebelling in opposition to all types of authority.
Now that he is sharing his story, he says “with the ability to discuss it and get it out helps.” Wanting again, “I may see the place issues went improper for me.” Brown provides that speaking about it, “helped me get by means of plenty of different issues that had been bothering me, particularly that.”
