Adam Lambert has criticised the prospect of Theo James taking part in George Michael in a biopic.
Earlier this week, studies claimed a biopic charting the Wham! frontman’s life was within the works with The White Lotus star in talks for the lead position.
When the information was shared on The Advocate’s Instagram web page, Lambert criticised the potential casting within the feedback.
Alongside an eye fixed roll emoji, Lambert wrote: “Yay one other straight man taking part in a homosexual icon.”
Lambert’s remark seemingly refers to current biopics Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, the place Freddie Mercury and Elton John are performed by Rami Malek and Taron Egerton respectively.
James expressed curiosity in taking part in Michael throughout an interview on Watch What Occurs With Andy Cohen earlier this month (January 13). When requested whether or not he’d wish to play the late singer-songwriter in a film, James mentioned: “Yeah, I’d love that. He’s an icon.”
Following studies of a biopic, Michael’s property have since denied endorsing the potential challenge.
“To all of George’s Lovelies, followers and lovers of his music, a narrative has been printed stating that George Michael’s household has endorsed a so known as ‘biopic’ about his life,” learn a press release from George Michael Leisure.
“On behalf of George’s household and GME we wish to make it clear that there is no such thing as a reality in anyway on this story, we all know nothing about this challenge and won’t be endorsing it in any manner.”
