Proud mama! Jennifer Lopez is a triple threat performer but being a mother is her favorite role to date.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful, brilliant coconuts ??,” the Marry Me actress gushed via Instagram in February 2023, celebrating kids Max and Emme’s 15th trip around the sun. “You bring so much joy and happiness to my heart and soul. I love you beyond forever.”
Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony, who wed in July 2004, welcomed their fraternal twins in February 2008 after nearly four years of marriage. The “On My Way” songstress and Anthony — who is a father of six — ultimately split in 2011. Their divorce was finalized in 2014 as the pair learned to amicably coparent Max and Emme.
“Marc and I are good how we are right now,” Lopez said during a March 2017 appearance on The View. “There’s a reason we’re not together, but we’re great friends. And we’re parents together. We’re even working on a Spanish album together. [And] that has been even better for us. We met working, and that’s where we’re really magical, when we’re on stage together, and so we leave it there. That’s it.”
The Hustlers star later moved on with Ben Affleck in May 2021. Less than one year after reuniting — the twosome were previously engaged between 2002 and 2004 — the pair got engaged for a second time. Lopez and the Good Will Hunting star tied the knot in July 2022 during an intimate Las Vegas ceremony before they started blending their families. Affleck, for his part, shares daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, whom he split from in 2015.
“We moved in together. The kids moved in together,” the Shotgun Wedding actress gushed of merging households during a January 2023 interview on the Today show. “It’s been, like, a really kind of emotional transition, but at the same time all your dreams coming true. “It’s just been a phenomenal year. Like, my best year, I think, since my kids were born.”
Months later, Lopez gushed over watching her husband be an “amazing” father and stepfather to the five teenagers.
“It brings tears to my eyes, he is honestly the best dad I have ever seen,” the “Jenny From the Block” songstress said during a May 2023 appearance on The View. “He’s such a brilliant guy anyway, and you can tell that when he had his kids he must have read every book and everything that you could possibly learn about children, and he applies it. He’s present, and that’s all you can ask, for a present, loving dad who shows up every single day, and that’s who he is.”
