As Superman: Legacy kicks off production this week, there’s been a notable emphasis on physical preparation from the cast to authentically portray their respective DC Comics characters. David Corenswet and María Gabriela de Faría have both been seen in training photos, indicating the rigorous efforts being made by the cast. The recent photos of Gathegi further underscore this trend, showcasing his hard work to bring Mister Terrific to the big screen.
Mister Terrific, as portrayed by Edi Gathegi, is based on the Michael Holt version of the character, who is renowned as the second individual to take on the Mister Terrific mantle. Created by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake, Holt first appeared in 1997’s Spectre (vol. 3) #54. In the pages of DC Comics, Holt is celebrated for his genius-level intellect and athletic prowess, making him one of the most formidable minds and fighters in the DCU.
Superman’s DC Universe Future
Set to begin production in March 2024, Superman: Legacy promises a fresh take on the iconic superhero saga, featuring David Corenswet stepping into the role of Superman, previously portrayed by Henry Cavill, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Joining Corenswet and Brosnahan in this new chapter of the Superman story is Nicholas Hoult, who is taking on the role of the villainous Lex Luthor.
James Gunn recently provided fans with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of the upcoming Superman movie, showcasing the cast following a table read.
