Soap Opera star Beth Peters has died at the age of 92 after a result of a short illness.
The actor and singer is most remembered for her recurring role on General Hospital and passed away in Central Florida on March 14th.

Appearing on the ABC soap in the early ’80s, Peters starred as Mrs Whitaker in eight episodes.
Her obituary was provided to Variety by her son, which described her television character: “The motherly Mrs. Whitaker dispensed country wisdom from her farm kitchen in Beecher’s Corners, serving as a surrogate mother to Laura Spencer, played by Genie Francis, as the teenager’s story arc saw her fall in love with Luke Spencer, portrayed by Anthony Geary.”
A trailblazer, Peters launched her acting and musical career in New Jersey when she was just a teenager.
Appearing on Broadway for the first time in 1955, she was an extra in the play Inherit the Wind.

During the last months of the show’s production, Peters took on the role of Mrs. Brady, which kick-started her career.
She then transitioned into regional theatre, where she spent a significant portion of her career.
Peters worked across the country from Sacramento Music Circus, Melodyland, Hyatt Music Theatre, Fiesta Dinner Playhouse, Circle Star Theatre and Galveston Summer Musicals to name a few.
Her television credits span from roles in Quantum Leap, Mr. Belvedere, Beyond Belief, Simon and Simon, The Waltons and Highway to Heaven.
Following her role in General Hospital, Peters went on to make successful appearances on the big screen in Kandyland, Back to School, Where Love Has Gone and Fitzwilly.

The actress spent time throughout her career being a dedicated member of the entertainment industry, working alongside organisations such as the Screen Actors Guild, the Actor’s Equity Association and Radio Arts.
Peters is survived by her son Sean Williams, and step-daughters Barbara Davison and Monican Lange.
She also has nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Peters is preceded by her husband Jack Donan, who similarly shared a love for acting.
