Proof‘s son Nasaan has known Eminem for most of his life, and he has now hinted that the two might have some new material on the way.

During an Off The Porch interview that was published last month, the up-and-coming rapper reflected on growing up around Slim Shady.

“I feel like I’ve known the n-gga forever,” he began at the 39:35 mark. “I think I started growing an appreciation for him as I got older ’cause it’s like— I never was a super fan of their music.

“Like I said, I grew up in Atlanta, so I think when I started building taste, my palate was a little bit different. So when I got like 14, 15, I kind of got into they stuff, and I was like, ‘Oooh, this n-gga really rap.’”

During the chat, he was even asked about making music with the Detroit legend.

“We got some shit, we got some stuff,” he said with restraint. “He sent me some stuff. I don’t want to speak on it too much — I be getting in trouble when I talk about they stuff. I ain’t gonna speak on it.”

Back in April, Nasaan paid tribute to his late father and his partner in rhyme by recreating one of their famous moments in the music video for his song “Goated” in collaboration with Royce Da 5’9.”

The visual package features a scene that alludes to a noted 1999 MTV freestyle session inside a car by Em and Proof as the second-generation rapper references “my daddy.”

“Goated” was the first single from Nasaan’s debut full-length project, ERROR 404. Soon after the video’s release, he took to Facebook and shared some thoughts the song as his dad.

“The release of this video got pushed back (because of other stuff), for its scheduling to be the day i lost my father 18 years ago,” he wrote. “this feels like such a pivotal make or break moment for me and my career mentally and all this says to me is that my father wanted to stand alongside me for this journey, win or lose.

“id like to think i’ve made him proud thus far, and will continue to try my best to do so. i put blood sweat and tears into making this video and he knows it.”
