Under the Oak Tree is coming back with a side story. The hugely popular romantasy series will return with Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon, which comes from the Korean Limited Edition books. The side story will comprise three volumes, with the first releasing on July 24 from Manta.
In Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon, the side story focuses on one of the Remdragon Knights, specifically Ursuline Ricaydo. Ursuline’s vicious half-brother arrives in the capital and demands that seventeen-year-old Ursuline become his squire. However, after meeting Riftan Calypse, Ursuline’s understanding of true chivalry gets turned upside down, forcing him to choose between loyalty to his family or his own dreams and desires.
The main webnovel series concluded in April of this year while Season 3 of the webcomic adaptation ended in February. While Manta has not yet announced when the webcomic will return, fans can be rest assured that the print version of the webcomic is coming very soon in September from Inklore, an imprint of Penguin Random House. The first volume will collect the first 24 episodes of the comic.
Inklore will also release a print version of the webnovel starting in November and the first volume will collect the first 76 chapters from the original series. The hardcover version will feature sprayed page edges, full-color patterned endpaper, silver foil stamping on the cover, and a beautiful ribbon bookmark in the style of a medieval book.
Written by Kim Suji with the webcomic adaptation helmed by P and namu, Under the Oak Tree revolves around Lady Maximilian Croyso who is looked down upon by her father due to her speech impediment, and as a result, her father forces her into marrying Sir Riftan. To make matters worse, Riftan leaves right after their wedding night, leaving her alone for three years. When he returns a hero, Maxi knows that their marriage is on thin ice; after all, who would want a stuttering woman like her? With time, patience, and compassion, their relationship flourishes and Maxi’s confidence in herself grows.
Under the Oak Tree – The White Dragon releases exclusively on Manta Comics starting July 24 at 6 PM ET.
