I understand the show’s point is to tell the story of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) and His disciples, but incorporating an Old Testament parallel will go hand-in-hand with the current arc.

The series will have more Biblical stories to cover afterward, but the plotlines of the fifth season will highlight key factors of Christianity. Before Jesus comes about in the Bible, significant stories are still essential to the beliefs of the Christian faith.
