Angelina Jolie has shut down an interview question about her divorce from Brad Pitt, as she hinted she has been “betrayed a lot”.
The actress was asked by the Hollywood Reporter whether she would be willing to open up about her split from her ex-husband, to which the answer was a resounding, “No”.
Jolie began proceedings in 2016, having been married to Pitt since 2014. Eight years later, their divorce proceedings are still ongoing, which is at least one reason why she has decided to set “firm boundaries” around the topic.

She did share that she was still “trying to get used to what to share” regarding her divorce, mentioning that it was the reason why she remained in Los Angeles.
“I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” Jolie said, referencing her and Pitt’s six children, Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, along with twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” she shared, which is something she is not finding in LA.

“I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here,” she said.
She also spoke about having a tight-knit inner circle, believing that when it comes to friends, “a few is enough”
“I don’t really have those kinds of relationships,” she admitted.

“Maybe it’s losing your parent young. Maybe it’s working. Maybe it’s being somebody who’s been betrayed a lot. I don’t have a lot of those warm, close relationships as much that I lean on.
“I’ve had a few friends over the years not be there for my family in their hour of need,” the actress shared.
But she does “have a couple of people that I trust”.
