First Steps’ Cast List Seemingly Confirms Mole Man’s Appearance In The Reboot

Mole Man may finally be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! An update to the cast list of The Fantastic Four: First Steps has seemingly spoiled the iconic villain’s debut.

With filming for The Fantastic Four: First Steps entering its final weeks, fans have been scouring the internet for any clues they can get about the film’s plot before trailers hit the net. While usually a fruitless endeavor, it seems a new addition to IMDB’s cast list for the film may reveal that Mole Man will make his MCU debut in the upcoming reboot.

Tony McCarthy, a longtime background actor for the MCU, was recently added to the IMDb cast list of The Fantastic Four: First Steps under the name of “Moloid Person”. In the original comics, Moloids are a group of deviants beneath the streets of New York City controlled by the villain Mole Man to try to take over the world. This addition was first noticed by The Cosmic Circus, though has been removed as of the time of writing this piece.

Who Is Mole Man In The Fantastic Four?

Mole Man is perhaps the team’s most iconic villain that has never gotten a proper adaptation. While the character did appear as a scientist in the dreaded Fant4stic, he’s otherwise never made a live-action appearance. It would make sense that The Fantastic Four: First Steps would want to pay homage to the character by doing him right for the first time, especially given the film’s focus on nostalgia in its aesthetic choices.

Many believe that Paul Walter Hauser, who has been cast in The Fantastic Four: First Steps in a large role yet to be defined, may be tapped to play Mole Man. However, others dispute this, saying his charming demeanor would be perfect to voice H.E.R.B.I.E. more than a subterranean villain. Though even if fans have no idea who’s playing him, it’s more certain than ever that Mole Man will get his day in the sun!
