On Tuesday, November 12, Abrams Fanfare and Marvel will release Amazing Adventures, the second installment of their new, annual middle-grade anthology series Marvel Super Stories.
The second volume in a brand-new middle-grade anthology series with Marvel Comics, edited by John Jennings. Featuring 15 all-new six-page stories written and illustrated by some of the biggest names in comics for young readers, this all-star lineup features original stand-alone stories featuring Spider-Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, the Incredible Hulk, Doctor Strange, Silver Surfer, Thor, Moon Knight, Silk, Spider-Man 2099, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Hawkeye. This all-star roster takes a fun, fresh look at everyone’s favorite Marvel super heroes, delivering delightful stories that will introduce them to first-time fans for a whole new generation of readers.
Edited by John Jennings (Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation), the book’s contents consist of a Doctor Strange story by Ethan M. Aldridge (Estranged); Silver Surfer by Ryan Andrews (This Was Our Pact); Thor by Mike Cavallaro (Nico Bravo); Moon Knight by Chan Chau (The Baby-Sitters Club); Silk by Gabriela Epstein (Invisible: A Graphic Novel); Spider-Man 2099 by Tim Fielder (Matty’s Rocket); the Avengers by Brian Fies (The Last Mechanical Monster); the Fantastic Four by Dean Haspiel (Mo and Jo Fighting Together Forever); Black Panther by Jennings; Spider-Man by Jarrett Krosoczka (Lunch Lady); Guardians of the Galaxy by Kat Leyh (Snapdragon); Hulk by Jamar Nicholas (Leon the Extraordinary); Ant-Man by Amber Padilla (The Secret Garden on 81st Street); Hawkeye by Carlisle Robinson (Deafverse); and a Captain America adventure by Judd Winick (Hilo).
All in all, this should be a great holiday gift for any kid (aged 8 to 12) who really felt the MCU’s relative absence this year. But what if (no pun intended) they’re more into the Distinguished Competition?
