Love Island USA season 7 episode 8 had the Islanders scrambling as Ace Greene’s connection to Chelley Bissainthe rubbed Austin Shepard and Amaya Espinal the wrong way, while Huda Mustafa and Jeremiah Brown’s connection hit its first road block. Throughout Love Island USA season 7, there’s been a high level of drama that’s threaded through each of the episodes, but things have been staying at a simmer. Tonight, the drama bubbled over as Ace’s season-long connection with Chelley finally became a real issue for him, with Amaya speaking up and Austin voicing his issues with the way Ace treats Chelley.
Though Love Island USA season 7’s cast has only been in the villa for a short while, they’ve already built intense connections that appear to be dividing some of the Islanders on who stands where. While the couples have only been switched up once, there have been lines drawn between Chelley and Ace all season even though he’s deliberately chosen not to be coupled up with her. Meanwhile, Jeremiah and Huda have been coupled up all season, but their relationship’s intensity has been overwhelming. Now that Jeremiah knows Huda’s secret, it feels like things may have reached a breaking point.
Their Connection Quickly Fizzled Out
Although Ace confidently picked Amaya at the last recoupling after only knowing her for just moments, it became clear quickly that the pair weren’t going to work well together. While Ace has had a connection brewing with Chelley for the majority of the season, he chose to pick Amaya on a whim, then clearly regretted that decision. Rather than being mature about the way he was feeling, Ace began to criticize the way Amaya was behaving, asking her not to be touchy with him, try to kiss him, or call him babe, without sharing he felt it was too serious.

When Amaya was, understandably, overwhelmed by how quickly Ace shut down after choosing her to couple up with, she didn’t hold back about her feelings. While she’d already talked to Chelley about feeling uncomfortable, Ace got reality checked when he asked. She explained to Ace that she didn’t like the way he was treating her, and though others also came to Ace to try and stop him from being indirect, it was no use. The pair had an explosive conversation at the docks, making it clear that their Love Island USA connection was over just as soon as it began.
A Sultry Game Had The Islanders Airing Things Out
Ace Didn’t Hold Back With Chelley
With the tension still in the air, the Islanders got the chance to play a game where they answered questions with the name of a fellow Islander, then flipped a coin, either landing on pucker or pie. This led them to either kiss their named Islander, or pie them in the face. While the majority of the Islanders were having fun with the game, pie-ing each other and laughing through the whipped cream, some of the issues between Amaya and Ace, which had led to issues between Chelley and Austin after Ace seemed to be stepping in again, came up.
When Ace was named the Islander who was most interested in clout, who was waiting for someone better to come along, and who was looking for the next Bombshells to come in, he took offense to the idea that he wasn’t authentic. Amaya, who was called out for trying to hard, seemed to take things in stride, but when Ace answered one of the questions with Chelley’s name and showboated a steamy kiss with her, things got awkward. Austin, who has been trying to deepen his connection with Chelley, was visibly uncomfortable and didn’t know what to do next.
Huda Clocked Jeremiah’s Bad Mood, But It Led To Tears
Their Relationship May Be Stalling Out
After the game, the guys and girls dispersed to talk about the experience. As the guys chatted about Huda, who’d answered a question about Ace derogatorily, they let Jeremiah know they were concerned about her being inauthentic in the villa. While he seemed unfazed, it clearly got into his head by the time Huda came over, as he was cold with her, brushing her off. When Huda pulled Jeremiah aside, the couple appeared to get into their first fight on Love Island USA. With Huda in tears by the end, it’s unclear if Jeremiah will be able to salvage things.
