Amanda Frances revealed what Kyle Richards told her the first time they filmed, and she hinted at what led to her drama with Dorit Kemsley. Amanda also said she hopes for an “apology” from Dorit at the reunion, and she reacted to Boz Saint John’s suggestion that she’s reaching for relevancy.
On the new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Amanda suggested in a group scene, after addressing the matter with Kyle, that Dorit shouldn’t publicly discuss her ex, PK Kemsley, amid their divorce. When Dorit caught wind of her comment, the friends became instant enemies. Soon after, many castmates joined the bandwagon against Amanda.
On Virtual Reali-Tea, Amanda shared more details leading up to her drama with Dorit.
“My very first time filming with [Kyle], she [told me], ‘Everyone here knows this is the job. Everyone knows we have to talk bad about each other,’” said Amanda. “[She said], ‘It’s okay that I’m asking you what Boz and Dorit talked about yesterday. … I’m going to ask you what you guys talked about.’”
“And so then when I went over to Kathy‘s a few days later … they asked me what me and Kyle talked about,” Amanda went on. “[And] I’m explaining to them at the Santa Monica dinner, I’m like, this is what happened. … This is not some strong opinion where I need everyone to know I think Dorit shouldn’t be doing XYZ. This is Jennifer ask[ing] me something. I said, ‘Well, you know Kyle thinks [this].’ I can see that.”
According to Amanda, her “benign” comment about Dorit was actually like a question.
“It was surprising to me that it was something we continued to talk about over four dinners,” she said. “Because it was not me holding ill will against anyone. … I have no skin in this game. I want you to not f**k up your life, but like this is not something I was going around talking about.”
In an interview for TMZ, Amanda addressed Dorit’s claim that she’s jealous and not a girl’s girl.
“I would like an example of a time I wasn’t a girl’s girl, and I don’t think there’s anything to be jealous of,” said Amanda. “I want good for all women. I want money for all women. … And I love if I’m the first breadwinning Housewife. That’s amazing.”
“I think there might be a bit of an initiation process,” said Amanda of her castmates’ treatment of her. “… [But] between Dorit and I, I lost hope [of a reconciliation].”
Amanda said she tried to “repair” the friendship several times, though Dorit “doesn’t seem interested.”
“But who knows what the future holds?” said Amanda. “Maybe I’ll get an apology at the reunion.”
As for Boz’s suggestion that Amanda is reaching for relevancy, Amanda stated, “I’ve never had a hard time being relevant. I just do think people are interested, and then they follow me. And that’s really it.”
